An 18650 is a lithium ion rechargeable battery. Their proper name is “18650 cell”. The 18650 cell has voltage of 3.7v and has between 1800mAh and 3500mAh (mili-amp-hours).
By using the cells in series, a battery pack can have any voltage possible in 3.7 volt steps. Ex. Lithium-Ion batteries use 3 cells to provide an 11.1 volt battery, 4 cells to provide a 14.8 volts battery or 10 cells to provide 37 volts battery.

Re: Choosing the right BMS - Amperage rating The bms needs to protect the battery, so 100 amps would be the maximum you should use . If you really do pull 60 amps, then you'd pop the bms all the time if you use a 60 amps bms. 80 makes sense to me, but my plan would be to adhere to the cut the c rate in half rule.
